Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released in December, breaking records even before it hit theaters and accompanied by a marketing campaign that included all kinds of merchandise – from action figures to toasters – as well as a generous number of trailers and TV spots.
Now one of the highest grossing films of all time, The Force Awakens is still playing in various cinemas all over the world, so it shouldn’t come as a big surprise that Disney still has some TV spots to share with the world. The difference with those released prior December 18, is that these ones include never-before-televised footage.

Two international TV spots have been released, showing “new” footage that those who have already watched the movie will easily remember. The trailers, teasers, and spots released as part of the promotional campaign managed to not show any footage that might give away even the most subtle plot hints, but now that a month has passed, it might be safer to show a bit more. That said, the TV spots still don’t reveal any plot details, so they’re a safe watch for those who still haven’t watched the movie.
Star Wars BB8 thumbs up New Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV Spots Include Great Movie Momentshe first of these spots shows Han Solo and Rey piloting the Millennium Falcon, followed by the attack of the First Order to Maz Kanata’s palace. We then see BB-8 giving Finn a ‘thumbs up’, and one of the greatest Han Solo moments in this new adventure: when looking for a plan to destroy the Starkiller Base, Finn suggests the use of the Force, to which Han Solo appropriately replies “that’s not how the Force works!”. The spot ends with a quick look at C3PO and Han Solo attacking some stormtroopers. The second one opens in Jakku, with Rey, Finn, and BB-8 running from the stormtroopers going after Finn. This spot reveals a bit more than the previous one, as it shows that the Millennium Falcon was in Jakku and was considered “garbage” by the residents. The video ends with a quick look at Han Solo at the Resistance base with an out-of-focus Leia in the foreground. These spots might be the push those who haven’t seen the movie needed, but without revealing too much. It’s nice to know Disney is still keeping the big revelations away so everyone can enjoy the Star Wars experience as it should – hopefully, the internet hasn’t spoiled anything to them just yet.Star Wars: The Force Awakens is now playing in theaters, and will be followed by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on December 16th, 2016, Star Wars: Episode VIII on May 26th, 2017, and the Han Solo Star Wars Anthology film on May 25th, 2018. Star Wars: Episode IX is expected to reach theaters in 2019, followed by the third Star Wars Anthology film in 2020.
